Yes. Access Ballroom competes regularly in Pro-Am competitions with students. You can see highlights on the Access Ballroom YouTube channel.
It depends on your goals and schedule. Your instructor will give you a specific recommendation after the trial lesson and consultation. Like with any skill, frequency is important when learning something new, and if you want to see real progress.
Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Mambo, Tango, Samba, Rumba, Bolero, Cha Cha, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Hustle/Disco, Kizomba and East Coast Swing. We also prepare wedding couples for their first dance which can be any dance style depending on the song.

Start with a wedding consultation, a 30-minute sit-down session with one of our wedding dance instructors. You’ll discuss your vision, song, venue, timeline, and comfort level, and walk away with a clear plan. The consultation is $40 + tax. If you move forward with a wedding package, the full amount applies toward it.

It’s your introduction to Access Ballroom. You’ll meet your instructor, try one or more dance styles, talk through your goals, and get a clear sense of what your dance journey could look like. There’s no pressure and no experience required — just show up curious.
The trial is $58 + tax for a solo student and $83 + tax for a couple. If you decide to move forward with a package, the full amount goes toward it.
It depends entirely on your vision and timeline. Wedding packages start at 6 lessons. Your consultation is where we work that out together — there’s no one-size-fits-all answer, and we won’t pretend there is.
None at all. Most people who walk through our door have never danced before. You start exactly where you are.
Can you help us choose a song? Yes. If you’re undecided, we have a broad reference list and can help you find something that fits your style and works well on a dance floor. We’ve worked with everything from Waltz to Reggae to Disney to Dirty Dancing.
Yes. Free street parking is available on Logan Ave, with a 1-hour limit south of Queen St and a 3-hour limit north of Queen St. There is also a paid parking lot accessible from Logan Ave, behind Value Village.
Comfortable clothes you can move in. For footwear, dance shoes with suede soles are ideal. If it’s your first visit and you don’t have dance shoes yet, a clean pair of smooth-soled indoor shoes works fine. Socks are allowed but not recommended. Bare feet, flip flops, slides, and marking shoes are not permitted on the dance floor.
The earlier, the better. More time means more practice, and more practice means a first dance that feels natural and confident rather than rehearsed. That said, we’ve worked with couples as close as one to two weeks before the wedding. We’ll always find a way to help you make the most of whatever time you have.
That’s a completely valid choice. Not every couple wants a choreographed routine, and we don’t push one on anyone. Whether you want a full performance or just to feel comfortable and not step on each other, we’ll build a plan around what you actually want.

Only if you want to. Some couples love them, others don’t. We’ll only include what makes sense for your comfort level and physical abilities. Do not attempt to learn lifts from online tutorials — they require proper technique to be done safely.

Yes. Father-daughter, mother-son (or any other significant person in your life) and bridal party group choreography are all available. Bring it up during your wedding consultation and we’ll factor it into the plan. From surprise flashmobs to heart-warming parent dances — we’ve done it all.
